CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT French Farmhouse Numbered NapkinsI have another fun and easy project to share with you today…my French farmhouse numbered napkins! If you know me, you know I am always in search of ways to create a little frenchiness without spending a ton of money and these napkins do just that!

Ozzie My co-host today, our lovely CEO Miss Ozzie, suggested that I buy some plain white dinner napkins in bulk so that I would have enough for several projects. And…after a little search, I finally found them at Target at about $10 for a dozen…that’s about 80 cents each! They are not the thickest napkins but they have the feel of old linens.

The next step was to find the perfect graphic and it will come as no surprise that I found it at The Graphics Fairy! Karen was so kind as to share her lovely vintage French wreath with us so all I had to do was add the numbers! I have already reversed it for you so that it can be used as an iron-on transfer. I printed it at 8x10 size using Photoscape…a free downloadable photo editing program… and trimmed around each of the numbers. Some of you have asked what kind of transfer paper I use and it’s Avery Light Fabric Transfers. Simply follow the instructions on the package and apply the numbers to the napkins.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT French Farmhouse Numbered NapkinsAren’t they pretty? I love the vintage look! They are a wonderful complement to my mismatched collection of vintage silverplate flatware and dishes!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Numbered NapkinsAnd…I finally splurged ($12 is a splurge for me) and bought a vintage blue Ball canning jar with one of those wonderful old zinc lids…love it! It’s the perfect container for my flatware! I have gathered them all up in my French wire egg basket…a $2.00 find at Goodwill several years ago…before they were stylish. I love it! It’s the real deal…with the handles well-worn from years of use!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT DIY Vintage French Linens You may remember seeing my egg basket here…when I showed you how to turn inexpensive IKEA tea towels into vintage-look “monogrammed” French linens using iron-on transfers! Can you tell I love the look of old French linens?

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT French Farmhouse Numbered Napkins And here’s a final look! I simply rolled them so that the numbers show and tied them with some jute twine to add a little texture and a vintage feel. Now…all I need is a French farmhouse to go with my napkins!
