Please be sure to head over and pay Yvonne a visit! If you are not familiar with her blog, then you are in for a real treat! She is one mega-talented lady who shares tips on cooking, decorating and living the farmhouse lifestyle that is so popular now. <br /><br /><br /><b>1. What are you working on?</b> <br />I am in the process of transitioning my home’s décor from late summer into early fall. I know some of you are saying…<i>No! It’s too soon!…</i>but here in the South we are sweltering with the August heat and humidity and won’t get any relief until well into October, so you must at least allow us to <i>pretend</i> that it is coming! ;-)<br /><br /><img alt="CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Fall Home Tour" border="0" height="660" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKTken-6O5DqB_VRjVwJwjV-4Jl5QVnPdke6sNnR60ifVGrfkvgNKIaCZhUwNgPs-Va1H9_zjJkOqAK9E17n3N0GJc-mYZ3aXC9mOcvsY54BFGU0m1xjLBF17AWCRPsXGHcXOHCmPvG-HL/?imgmax=800" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Fall Home Tour" width="605" />And just in case you missed it, here’s a peek at my <i><a href="http://confessionsofaplateaddict.blogspot.com/2013/09/confessions-of-plate-addicts-fall-home.html" target="_blank">fall home tour from last year!</a></i>  I have already begun adding some fall touches and my little wheels are turning with ideas for ways to incorporate some of my favorite thrifting finds in this year’s décor!<br /><br /><br /><b>2. How does my work differ from others in my genre?</b><br />This is a tough one because there are so many talented bloggers who are also in the same genre as me! But I have to say that I think that my years as a French teacher and the time that I spent living in France give me a little different perspective. My goal from the start has been to turn my home into my own little corner of Provence with warm colors and a lived-in feeling. I have found that by combining vintage and much-loved family pieces with my “frenchy” creations from thrifting and repurposing, I can achieve just that effect.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-TvWy9iL0uSsTRjxOY_dxwYOUyroMyFKrbaXJJ_1QuNaXxHvqlcWNKjIf-_tvofQwNk_MuRnemPiqVL2TpKmhC0O5JogwJtAEyYT1jAnNNP_uRsfZSrJDFh9NBn-rbK1pupQdn3YEry8f/s1600-h/CONFESSIONSOFAPLATEADDICTCreatingaFr%25255B1%25255D.jpg"><img alt="CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Creating a French Country Dining Room on a Budget" border="0" height="502" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP7jDzAfkoFWkKpHoPRfo1U9fwW8H7XvjiMrFIWtXsonZvCQljyT24OG9g7f8c6iXAGb7drxBNgGD980pq6ivMAW7Xd9tceEy4rMMWYnV-iLS1pW3z1bAMW1P3-sz8CIbytZYboUHGv-Er/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Creating a French Country Dining Room on a Budget" width="662" /></a> Perhaps there is no better example of my style than my<i> <a href="http://confessionsofaplateaddict.blogspot.com/2014/07/my-favorite-room.html" target="_blank">French Country dining room…created on a budget!</a></i> It is by far my favorite room in my house! I might also add that not everyone is lucky to be aided as I am by my feline staff of four, one of whom, Baby Kitty, can be seen above,  under the table taking a break from overseeing my work!<br /><br /><br /><b>3. Why do I write/create what I do?</b><br />I have given you a little hint at one of the reasons in my previous answer…the need to be on a budget! lol Add to that the need to create that I think most bloggers feel and you have the result…<i>my DIY French style!</i> I love all things French, but as a retired teacher, I honestly can’t afford the fabulous antiques and wonderful vintage linens and <i>brocante </i>or flea market finds that I see in magazines. <i>Sooo</i>…I have had to come up with ways to re-create what I love without spending a fortune!<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBG2p3o0EENHN72js708cxUKYill4zztvCKEfnwi2QgnP-oacK1Pn6nwjrERZYwlPhrXUHPmmCn2lRCeFBavts7WXyqqP5BjTp2iMJ3wUWhY-L6PAggVrVLkXSaSXTBp9O-ep3CV9GPSpa/s1600-h/02512.jpg"><img alt="CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT No-Sew Vintage Look French Monogrammed Linens" border="0" height="788" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3MY3xn4NaCyitDvk9gg6bPoq4dDV63NW_hmPMhSgA9dq7wHMSpEDYaY75n-O_FgfyNYAP15zELJg6oEdEMbRdByKNoNOeiEUNy0EPctBFSA9SuIPpaWJNyDBWQYeXcOYSEakRv_bKFfT3/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT No-Sew Vintage Look French Monogrammed Linens" width="596" /></a> My favorite example of <i>frenchiness</i> created on a budget is my no-sew <a href="http://confessionsofaplateaddict.blogspot.com/2012/02/finding-vintage-frenchinessat-ikea.html" target="_blank"><i>monogrammed French tea towels!</i></a> They are actually 79 cent dish towels from IKEA embellished with an iron-on transfer…so easy that anyone can do them! <br /><br /><br /><b>4. How does that writing/creative process work?</b><br />I am sure that for every blogger you would find a different answer to that question. For me, I try to keep in mind that anything I create needs to be simple and inexpensive, both for myself and my readers. I love finding a vintage or flea market piece that speaks to me…begging me to use it in a vignette or repurpose it. Sometimes I see something that I love and my mind goes to work immediately figuring out how I can make my own version of it. I suppose that many of my readers would tell you (and I freely confess) that I am a copy-cat! <br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi47MaOYlnpsjVmsEDOqVDaK6Awzd44QssqQdjkCzDcZ9PWG-fQHFzhs_HX1NFLsadI2-Q2gdlJ0l1ruEfKvyYH1n2DXJGeJAwkFP1EIezJautuoCPZYL4tNkGW3NTYqpgWLb_EEvceH4ln/s1600-h/CONFESSIONS%252520OF%252520A%252520PLATE%252520ADDICT%25252015%252520Pottery%252520Barn%252520Inspired%252520Projects2%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT 15 Pottery Barn Inspired Projects" border="0" height="886" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij2nIHl16eL6c7MLhEHHKiZdRAGQgShjFmb83g5etum7sma1hubyXnM9MzXOTsfyUvAvPI_laMCWJYq7PsEMu_Phx8qGnvlyRkNa98cyfAWj_G8FwMOoVpDdxmhXZXeH-dN0ADuMRSQly2/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT 15 Pottery Barn Inspired Projects" width="504" /></a>For example, I love it when the new Pottery Barn catalog arrives in the mail!  It’s always as if they have thrown down the gauntlet…challenging me to create it for less! You will find many of my Pottery Barn inspired ideas<i> <a href="http://confessionsofaplateaddict.blogspot.com/2014/02/15-pottery-barn-inspired-projects.html" target="_blank">here.</a></i> But they are not alone in being subject to my scrutiny for hacks! You will find many more in the <i><a href="http://confessionsofaplateaddict.blogspot.com/p/tutorials.html" target="_blank">Copy-Cat section</a></i> of my Project Gallery. And stay tuned because I have a really good one in the works now! ;-)<br /><br />And now I have a couple of my favorite blogs to share with you!
