I used two lengths, back-to-back since you can see inside the jar.. </li><li>Next, glue the two sheets together with rubber cement. It’s a great adhesive to use with paper since it doesn’t wrinkle and you can simply roll it with your finger to remove the excess.</li><li>To create the cutouts, simply fold the sheets in half across the short side and cut out your pattern. Note: I practiced first on plain paper until I got the cutout the size that I wanted it to be. I used a heart for Valentine’s Day, but any cutout could be used. Unfold your sheet and you will see a whole pattern. If you are uncomfortable cutting your own, you will find quite a few shapes online.  </li><li>Wrap jute twine around the mouth of the jar several times and tie. You may have to resize it to fit. The white hearts were 4 1/2 inches tall. Cut more hearts in a slightly smaller size in the coordinating fabrics in whatever number you wish. Don’t worry if it’s a little messy since the glue dries clear. Allow to dry. Spray paint the ends of the dowel and the caps white and allow them to dry.  Attach the caps to the dowels with hot glue. Apply fabric glue to the 2 inch fold on the inner edge,  place the dowel in the fold and then smooth the fold as close to the dowel as possible. Allow to dry. Tie a piece of yarn to both ends of the dowel to allow for easy hanging. I try to make it relatively subtle and have it fit into my Country French style…not always an easy task! I had used it in my Christmas décor and I love it so much that I wanted to keep it as the heart of the centerpiece. I love the way it looks like cross-stitch but is so much easier!
