CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Country Living Inspired Filament Bulb CandlesI have another fun, easy and inexpensive project for you…my Country Living inspired filament bulb candles! As soon as I saw them in the March issue, I knew I was going to make them!

Ozzie Our CEO and co-host for today, Miss Ozzie, says that if they look sort of familiar…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Aged Paper Candle Wraps …it’s because I recently used the same technique in my frenchy  aged paper candle wraps. You will find a super-easy tutorial for how to age paper and the free graphics to make your own numbered candles here.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Country Living Inspired Filament Bulb CandlesHere’s how I made the filament bulb candles:
  • First, I downloaded the graphics from Country Living by clicking here. I cropped and saved them individually and printed them at 5x7 size running lengthwise using Photoscape.
  • Next, I followed the steps on my tutorial for aging paper to give them a vintage look.
  • Finally, I attached them to pillar candles using double-sided tape…

They remind me of a childhood visit to his winter home in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida where I was fascinated by his laboratory…and a huge banyan tree that must be gigantic by now.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Country Living Inspired Filament Bulb Candles I love the way they look in a lantern…or under a cloche…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Country Living Inspired Filament Bulb Candles …and just look at the effect when they are wrapped around an LED candle! In Country Living, they used waterslide decals to attach the graphics to LED candles…but I think those candles are waaay too expensive to give a permanent make-over.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Country Living Inspired Filament Bulb CandlesAnd here’s a final look! I am excited about my new method using candle wraps instead of permanently attaching my graphics to them. I just remove the wraps to store and I can reuse my candles…great for me because I was running out of candle storage space! And...best of all...they were free because I already had everything I needed! Hmmmm…I have some other ideas for the graphic, so stay tuned!
