All it takes is cylindrical candle holders from Dollar Tree, pillar candles, twine, construction paper and access to a printer! That’s it! <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho73LLD0Vs_xD1_-h7UAJJOIz1ygeR0QExQVarnguQlccZgeCckkVhriTQ9U2bkKwTViA_5nBGD4bgR_9rr4-er23Ph-qePDDDEDaHgp3tW1anMVbSeVovsI1pXvFG1Qz01umYF-xEXG9n/s1600-h/HolidayCandleSleeves21.jpg"><img alt="Holiday Candle Sleeves" border="0" height="621" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCzX840Eg68_LG_7wIlF0iW_mtlcUto63LUewOsnP7RFBsLwyT-eheJmTpwGxq7WNdr8Cxji7vzGI7jRYHVYEjPhPW26AOeKw8c6iBoVPxgeZGeI66m3yyir3_tg7hMOpwVQ3j4ZMC3CJF/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Holiday Candle Sleeves" width="621" /></a> And if you are thinking it looks familiar…it does! I used the same method to make candle covers for <a href="http://confessionsofaplateaddict.blogspot.com/2011/12/easy-wisteria-sheet-music-candle-knock.html">Christmas</a>, <a href="http://confessionsofaplateaddict.blogspot.com/2012/01/easy-french-script-valentine-candles.html">Valentine’s Day</a> and <a href="http://confessionsofaplateaddict.blogspot.com/2012/03/vintage-saint-patricks-day-candles.html">Saint Patrick's Day</a> and now Halloween! I just used the same cylinders and changed the sleeve. How easy is that? <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6gOL626Nd-csw_msYIiQ64AJWokaqao7N_MMb89oWCLMQSz-lliaHIxiBIy5iphdYuZxjQajQN6_F1MuHFe4ZqlYJGqb6XuQHpofQUSqL3plH03i-5i2esCcbs_EoNQ63JCTMTXruUSrj/s1600-h/WitchyCatCandle20.jpg"><img alt="Witchy Cat Candle" border="0" height="519" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVvSkxQy8u-QpoGKRyzHBx611BtUKD6KuiCCyJ-l4NVPlCgpW9Om4lMKf_l2RYnlOENVR5TlBYpq99_RXx-bA1mwX2U6OJE86Hn0uCajPJNnmI7U8Y82QHwUurBAFHKQsBYGjPH3eVS_tf/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Witchy Cat Candle" width="634" /></a>Aren’t they fun? I usually don’t do a lot of over-the-top Halloween, but I loved the vintage images that I found at <a href="http://www.halloweenecard.com/halloween-cards/old-halloween-images">Vintage Halloween eCard.</a> There are oodles of choices and…best of all…they are arranged by horizontal and vertical cards…someone who thinks like me! lol Just click to enlarge the horizontal cards that you choose and print at 8 x 10 size! (I use <a href="http://www.photoscape.org/ps/main/download.php">Photoscape</a>, a free photo-editing program, to download and print my pictures so that I can control the size.) <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJrWdVYUFSuBcSBNUFQMNHafNrY9XhZL9PWF8lkcVi_O5ebHNNqY2cbS1YtpEI5RPdMAd3wawshuCot2FifB91-dMWPjRM_tv8AXwuRj9fDLyrsoj0Xn20QP7LQ29H6k5jRrIAaK21Wddu/s1600-h/Easy%252520Halloween%252520Candles%25255B11%25255D.jpg"><img alt="Easy Halloween Candles" border="0" height="633" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJW8LENGnsoX4nxGRsw9nXAIfGn562b_Q4gXGmWTz_MWFMhZ6xx5DlEpn2p-RJFzYNXgTcmDeRdTD_uPO1_Y9etRSoOIWe_QPGJfE4F_eQYx4RkyTGeW74oTnuHPhdcXd-KG0CP9owNnRI/?imgmax=800" style="border-color: -moz-use-text-color; border-style: none; border-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Easy Halloween Candles" width="633" /></a>Mine, of course, all have cats on them! The postcards didn’t print quite up to the edges of the paper for me, so I just trimmed them and added some orange ribbon at the top and the bottom of the cylinder before I applied the Halloween graphics. Mine are simply taped at the back. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtRQ3pubJc7fr_muBSZmINEscoWqY-1m0lH6crMon9unfdxArbiAy3ahsmd2v6tcEogNzTaZwWbiSjohSo44NZKhbWc-2fAOduMM1zuf_Z_Evmms42U4dkbYoyhLyJLnu1ILBGh1K9JgsV/s1600-h/BK%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img alt="BK" border="0" height="788" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKZExHK7AJ23zBAlz426mOdic0s0WquD3E7Et5Gdq-qUuAZvvW7eKfeVDcfHTFH8Eo8QG1bypvsVdwtlK1nN9wo-KyS1bd_4fcKLGbxr_YGTORrXagCRJiuLErseRccv7Fas1hvWjh8RTU/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="BK" width="596" /></a>Next, I added another strip of ribbon along the seam to hide the tape and applied it with rubber cement. You could, however, first cover the entire cylinder with orange construction paper and go from there. One last step..add the tags! Baby Kitty is already on this part of the job…literally! lol <img alt="Halloween Candle Text" border="0" height="184" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOwbrkuyBKO8yUF3JLeP0cWGWro_54gk_ha-6yB0w80F7KT5fNJ9kU9fzC5EFEG3CDtZj14tMPlvMtdJV9m9Ud-fnrX_mOBhF8wwtHqQ_iWh2BdJUuN2VwnRIgMu_Ud2cONSeogJRCXXeX/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Halloween Candle Text" width="228" />I just printed the graphics above, cut them into strips and used rubber cement to attach them to black tag shapes that I cut from construction paper. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdN1_HNljOt98ZxIvMdrMzCEIaeJ3t0mnmFXoQueBpSaz3H0c4VS0IBsGcP5aaQhvl1wphZ0X8lktXOTV8RCpOQP3qfNBN13J2kPdVEzhYcPl1_5GhK2JV9e-OAbqz8uJoa2raLuCSukU8/s1600-h/Witchy%252520Cat%252520Candle%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img alt="Witchy Cat Candle" border="0" height="518" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmOp-7mYQZHO4ARsoxa05dFxf4ToTOJcckNEgL2fzpsSlu2Z25uyn8FCoxTOYE3Oow9_yejGQO7S30MZ6mR_QLk16dwFvTmEq-Qae9bv3GYZ5iLQBIgIQGQuu5Dfh4RoO015h_McBjhAxd/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Witchy Cat Candle" width="633" /></a> Finally, I punched holes in the tags and tied them to the candles with jute twine! Easy peasy! <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhapauk-GH8XT4cuh7xIsD5be8Us23MVhCLdvkNatBm9uJathQOXCPzZI3nL0iOBUjz_7UDUOTwLesJxWQSIG5vBthgeKusuca0RLmn3oLMwzdi1I8s4LjY8XMcyteo43xGpSMfwMrjWmeS/s1600-h/Easy%252520Halloween%252520Candles%2525202%25255B13%25255D.jpg"><img alt="Easy Halloween Candles" border="0" height="615" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA58MVVkrIo4ox0NylChOhA9QWrV0YfRqNabeeKzv4b7tVxTpkOThgZAFFqYI7ml9CVlGR4m0kh6aKpwtbFbFo6U1QBw18ZWZeZrFzDSvOzF6s69tl64nh-tgSWfz6P0N1ulTEkbNg5T6a/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Easy Halloween Candles" width="615" /></a>And there you have them! Honestly, I do my Halloween decorating for my grandsons and I think the little guys are just old enough to notice this year. Or at least to see the kitties and say meow! lol What about you? Fall Figs and a Tea Towel to Make!

Do you love them like I do? My favorites are the Black Mission figs…yum! Sooo…inspired by the reappearance of my seasonal favorites, I decided to create a tea towel in their honor! Isn’t that normal? lol <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEie-dbCbcQ3GuRfqJT2miEAssuEEkZv8rvO8UyioqGfRoVGRrGod4_d_KReaQnWIwVDphaJ5Z_x92gHZoexsCcG_UXOi_CUNswJw9dwz0HRe0__6Nweepo3bu5v-bmXYIDv6Ycthf-h0s1n/s1600-h/BK%252520and%252520figs%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="BK and figs" border="0" height="788" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZOsXLtqo3LLtvk_yUwOqJ3NpGkBsT2kiko1wG_NM6M4vl9YoffPhSkW7oh8hu5kUk9wSVtyumQ4ny9HDAAm8HzsGZhw0ZKOB9X3qyISj-XNJTUBVTRBsiNte5AH6GcShaxQdsZCi29I0g/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="BK and figs" width="492" /></a> And, of course, I can’t do a post without my trusty sidekick and co-host Baby Kitty! He is a big fan of fruit, believe it or not, but peaches and strawberries are his favorites! <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF17STd3VF9cjR78EaPDgI-JcvWl2ShB7TTcrv3hfRlVI4KdbqhGlUL9eZD7W5vPS4syxiFNxy7Oe2XudATofQurLmAuQPujhGvB27iT_OUBXTnGZlKdLeDTjNBtzXqwgy_KL7zQd3DzCN/s1600-h/figs%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img alt="figs" border="0" height="496" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg64BokFwetCI_6mwlobJm0p4Tr9PFK4JwLjTa12kZXix37yySoRNUp-JPdStKFXpTOnWZSLVSkLldgxxjPvEd3bq7nUGY_k_lOmnLEH1FSskA3e7FeSm4S2IN6X9_MwLSxOhQ1wOF8ds1L/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="figs" width="655" /></a> And here they are…my figgy loves! Aren’t they gorgeous? Gotta love the fabulous shades of purple with little pops of green on the outside! But the inside…a real explosion of unexpected color and yummy goodness! Don’t they just look like a painting? <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDyMkFTFi_uzzMmyFo6ss6seJ0o-BpE2Fl2zpd1j1eTocuf_fZ9Q8sgRk0SHMP0TwkUP_N2fzbIDyOCApn5ktAN2dRJBKuh3xixO0v_QuuyxU1yYImDSQNy4X70V9_WZV_IlGvMyXSPIby/s1600-h/figues%252520violettes%252520transfer%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img alt="figues violettes transfer" border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyFgKlqqHf6_VhgvLmmJ34uPeUtQt5aKhyphenhyphen-4T7MsCAg-lk-EeYqJVbJ5EO0eVD0cbzDR_DhZHzv4u7nAYoYIWotV8cUw5XlzSzAu_22-C7Qc8-uaBf7R9w98fzmnBykmRxFi_zIGtilE1W/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="figues violettes transfer" width="547" /></a> In fact, they always make me think of this painting…A Plate of Figs by one of my favorite artists...Giovanna Garzoni. Isn’t it amazing? And get ready for this…it dates from 1662! Can you imagine? She was one of the first female artists to work with still lifes and became well-known in a world where all of her contemporaries were men! Incredible! I added the script underneath to give it a little frenchy touch and flipped it for you to use as a transfer. If you would like to read more about her, click <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giovanna_Garzoni">here</a> and if you would like to see a lovely slide show of her work set to music, click <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WE84q_Uc7G8">here.</a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihCTMdPSvNe49_7OpO3fL9tENTe1zFbpIPXal3IJ1_6Lr3q1f7bpHP97u2Ds5D1Ir2_aj_J0S9Od_LiXt5B3yeC-AK8XiR7czcTHjJhlfFLS1asnVjP6StOnLhraUg1TiYaYmV_oE0S4je/s1600-h/figs%252520and%252520tea%252520towel%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="figs and tea towel" border="0" height="496" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLm11diE_X-cVqmtlGsqrBPHc7WKeNOJwrf3XkvL_N6m4mQ0NL4KQzAocd1bnq5__MWiuuQaWJOq6gZBfmHu7IzQbw6NlC0bf_ntTIbcuZ_iDh4SOi4jephlcoKEld1rZXAw6UnGXu0YvI/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="figs and tea towel" width="655" /></a> I just printed it on iron-on transfer paper and followed the directions to apply it to flour sack cloths from Target…easy peasy and practically free since I already had everything in my stash! <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBICjgdqzDvm01FiscpW9oQOi0U-J2choSwI58aqUwp8IV312qfa6IfoJ0aBio0z0Cf_lRYSxkb3hT4-PI-8ExHdzed4RdRVTrPflRoXmEAAmccBiNCp3xxpfVNTTQQpB1YtmUn9wn4Fpl/s1600-h/tea%252520towel%252520and%252520figs%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="tea towel and figs" border="0" height="788" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUKOvOnz-0BXGxhmouijibh8sKwfdZH0N1rnRvT0urJjYT-RyyJrOtPrmp5hvnNG6gipEvcRQi1dY1ufYKWnAKxbj0-1mWwzFQ9uP0ncXz1oMnjbF84lNpnXLhNZkBP6e0wjykJ1-JH-a2/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="tea towel and figs" width="596" /></a>Then of course I had to play with the tea towel and the figs to try to create a little still life of my own in the sunlight and shadows created on my dining room table by my Palladian window! <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8sYQ8u16Sf8xZzvI7Lgs4mHWKKpwTuVnlvHwrGQZCbuix6J0Uz3J-4d7-F08ZnPGYK4Z0A6Q01L-Cmg-YPQHJ4pPzuP49F4DcaiuIm8G_Td-Hd_gcdn8fQzZ0f88lIVkbp9lE79Et-bxl/s1600-h/bleu%252520cheese%252520and%252520figs%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="bleu cheese and figs" border="0" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgj0aQDITlM3lyfygLq5o9rVwndya-X22J7XEbbHjcIp9_admWJJdLErvJxS95Dddygh_pGGPDHa8fxHXapRXRqcck6yagZnW70co7Lo-2RjOsbJOZ0Et7j86F9nU3Gzfyon3FxiVPf2qah/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="bleu cheese and figs" width="621" /></a> And for me, you cannot have figs without bleu cheese! And even better, I lucked up on some roquefort at Publix the other day, but I can’t show that to you since it has already…er…disappeared along with part of the figs! <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc5bUjGOxJSaqeVacUDkpojO_p2P-AnaaGPqnvueQtP57NWO-NkO8IlAnG9PVeSmEsNYTZEeuxjnezhOAzdvJNL6B6NOIkyx_5uzOdyjC7iwWdawghE1FOL_0RLqSUmegjTdoaQzImxJI1/s1600-h/figs%252520and%252520Gew%2525C3%2525BCrztraminer%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img alt="figs and Gewrztraminer" border="0" height="788" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUNzOc47Ip6quGTYrTZm0pLx7BCxdJ6CPnsIyj-P-e5lP9zg8X2DMlssBOIeG-eBr0GPOvSakjP5RtPr42NowNpd9w1EeRUcaglgIZ41kcuPS1YRZppwAvKnWaMcV3gWbLcBfXQeEoTJjp/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="figs and Gewrztraminer" width="596" /></a>And while we are at it, we might as well add a glass of Gewürztraminer, my favorite French wine from the Alsace region! There are also signs of fall on my patio so I thought I would show you how some of my favorites are doing! The Creeping Jenny hair on my little <a href="http://confessionsofaplateaddict.blogspot.com/2012/05/flower-pot-man-for-your-garden.html">flower pot man</a> has grown into dreadlocks! <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvKbrcuJoG1A23HYxDsOTdiTsewhHjdJLEVvJcRMbiuZd_9Ni3NLFKkaW_PLa0KR0QeYUSQL6_0yXlAacD2SgmQkyNkK6oUcpr3IYkGXKVUmD8gt4u20RdLoj-MA2bF6A4dSNfLEXSCBtu/s1600-h/volunteers%25255B8%25255D.jpg"><img alt="volunteers" border="0" height="788" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjuNSXXyjBNMlVOTET0aqKYXtWlTTgfkjrfwSDYDNfmJPbYfkVWUu993q9W454dB8xDpttA90FfK5uiIU6h-FPbE68CmKBIMci1oIbTRpRFGZzQSsHMe05P_hvEE94S7FLBL6YF36Pq9cr/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="volunteers" width="596" /></a> And…strangely enough…last summer’s moss rose hair is still coming up in the form of volunteers along the pavers! lol <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO5LViIpYgM6JLyVg-sCgrRIR8RKiqdCRmge1E4eAN8ECsAK88DAqj4tTN4WOTuUjyThH6kABbzpemVrg7g4uPprmPxKUT4-htQ_3WfeJ299HYkywHT_VmdL05RjNn9cXaspz7TRXIy30p/s1600-h/picnic%252520basket%25255B9%25255D.jpg"><img alt="picnic basket" border="0" height="540" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8t9DyaHfZn6NrCCWJBMKeLoEj43dqG6C7z8LRYFy14lIfJ8FBeVd4S4Cp9pM7mQr3R847MZJlMAvwn4D-Wcd5zzKeiBE-Z9ze8ivm2oerQK6xThmUkkCSzty-_qybQhKhUT1pjQ0HXTBz/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="picnic basket" width="608" /></a> My <a href="http://confessionsofaplateaddict.blogspot.com/2010/06/my-shabby-picnic-basket-planter.html">shabby picnic basket planter</a> is looking better than ever…filled with pink begonias that seem to be very happy on my patio! <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9N64_VQEPB56YRMNgwBpk926FdfL8nGKNShUJYKwPAz7e29QTIh85I11DnIiMGmwoqgxxUTiJ99PgrBUyZ-7p4EZTdr4uD2wVugDjroTOrRyoahCSr1c0ZN4Rf4S31_88tqQ7pk4b1ewW/s1600-h/catnip%252520cage%25255B13%25255D.jpg"><img alt="catnip cage" border="0" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfLc8IdOcGbDDJxm6TkmfJLLgR8Dpe-HSw83eSTqJX1UOcPr568bgoS1mKN8tZZ2atdEw24iDbB2B0Ot-2aXHcyoSTBAfdWLuqkyYOjprMEcNjZF98rc-Waayn95_LT-x3rj2sAjlomnZx/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="catnip cage" width="660" /></a> My sweet potato plant is flourishing…overrunning my wire rooster planter! And my experimental caged catnip…to protect it from a neighbor’s naughty cat…is a fabulous success! The two first little blossoms are peeking through! They are special favorites of mine since they came from my mother’s yard. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn9eIb3PGlL32nQZy7EWDmZhV70hju7MlcSQgtTNk2vHrZggztqktg_JXFmC4dM4RlPfKZBdU7kYhFNp5OTdaOONKGknk4F9AMUlHDlvSCpct17UVpWh7Xymazfosco-tamxJut54BX92S/s1600-h/002%25255B8%25255D.jpg"><img alt="002" border="0" height="788" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgqHke4cCy-iWYkexuo8bx4Al2yhpgRt1QWAbbol2Ic1wrIpjPuKs4sKNmhuxxyV6YTeFNoF2w4KMMytnRMwKSHVa_LUhuwRqzH53BwEDcqDpQDPCXMXu5CFHmgTW6VkXIx5EK80aN_BeJ/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="002" width="596" /></a> I came back early the next morning to see if they had bloomed…and they had! Oh, how I have missed that wonderful fragrance! They will continue to bloom until the first frost when I will cut the remaining blossoms and bring them in…to fill up my house with their wonderful sweet but spicy smell! <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK6h8RyjixQgADWlyjQqe6RP5YN3qAgM-CoMtSBRx7TxKHTLCCK9ghCEhuQV5R-icVAaKypyP4ig8RjVuuv3iCdDQdDkNwjI63k-FFEzssM-AR1hGxAopaStmSFKzuU5qKQGKyPFQ9Iro4/s1600-h/rose%252520of%252520sharon%25255B8%25255D.jpg"><img alt="rose of sharon" border="0" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4qfQG4OPeumju5O2wCsWQ-K99lASakVewMewG1bcDe0q9HsL8aHeSxihewommepwm3kxPxLhwdtAyp4iwiJJxOYmvlfa0Jfqv8roePO9VLVDRxodFRLNbB3XoGEw5i-RLa3EKM4N11xGw/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="rose of sharon" width="660" /></a> My rose of sharon…grown from seedlings from my grandmother’s garden…is in full bloom, too. I love the way this little branch has decided to peek through the fence. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF1fqXVt1OaMODebR6-okuDWVxACPN2imcvmsppzLM6X8WF_8qA8n5ve_d_oMlzAWeE6cbSPe4d64lkYko8XXX24BQtAfbJcQB7mQQSwKAloZqozmeRBI7iFqKNoQnd0CBsMBxzDB31L2r/s1600-h/water%252520feature%25255B12%25255D.jpg"><img alt="water feature" border="0" height="788" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVBeewHaDTyiyLFsbxd5fOt-zTjGUnjdlTd9IX0qiUs4_SnKXJ5j4qJYP_gYUWJlsRDltqi28u8O0ytqFY9nJEDsArUd0V1pm0nz8rZAJp9eBmyCj931MX0Cx3nsUTIfDo1DyNfLeIG0u9/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="water feature" width="596" /></a> And another wonderful surprise…the water hyacinths in my little water feature have bloomed! It’s a mystery to me how they always decide to bloom all at the same time. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7w5HMRyeznfj_IJhO1CzBXgYxHkRc5tbkFkQkw8HMT9l8GAHj2JScLBEfsVGQiotKdeaHSv0A5jj8632CAmM8nq2NDx_QvOhnhBySM7M3osWN76yNY8hba090khpi19dpBgVz2Q7WoaUA/s1600-h/flower%25255B8%25255D.jpg"><img alt="flower" border="0" height="788" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvW2fqKqVuhQT_Iz0QU4O8jMyF0LgjZyBbaeIcxm_vJ_2KyEVC25Wrz2b506LcPHsD8e3-dl2JlmJK-gz97gyy9Bxd0IZi3j21bXKnq19fsqI99iOyqq5z_C90vohNe4hwmE7YQh6ZVsTY/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="flower" width="596" /></a>Aren’t they beautiful? This one has five blooms on one stem…more than I have ever seen at once! They will brighten up my patio for one full day and night and then fade away by dawn…magnificent! A glorious 24 hours! <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1Xl9txP1RG7GyLztXmqyMRdztLH5OrMm0rnlIl_I6q5Un78mN1auRxCKQ1j_nyrJyRlc2wCYns666wOG44NhpnjOoaKZkTBFSloPmo8EtNClxCEVWSzt7cUgs1pqrVIMwqjzvqeBT_rvS/s1600-h/amaryllis%25255B11%25255D.jpg"><img alt="amaryllis" border="0" height="671" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPB0hs7qMbeZG-2wQDzkedrq54GV_WQ0sQ89S2Wp6sELZPIiwfq5mRynmuGYj7cLe4NiX8tbb7JK_mXgSQox45FU-FiSlH3060RUSGJ9VDNq0qmWOkJET_HrDB9_1HmIqQOOqE6UQr9dn4/?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="amaryllis" width="586" /></a> And finally…another odd little surprise…my amaryllis from two Christmases ago has decided to come back.
