Have I got a fun and easy Easter project for you…my Pottery Barn inspired glitter eggs! And I did it in almost no time because I cheated! Let me walk you through the steps and I will share my secret! You are not going to believe it, it’s sooo easy!

Here’s my inspiration…Pottery Barn German glitter eggs. Sadly, they are no longer available, but that’s OK because I am going to make my own. And…I am going to use brighter colors as well. However, notice that the eggs are in two different sizes…small and large. You will see why that’s important in a moment.

Here’s what you will need:

Several colors of fine glitter (Mine came from Hobby Lobby)
White glitter
Mod Podge
Flat brush
Small bowl
Spoon
Small plastic eggs (Mine came in a pack of 24 from Dollar Tree)
Wax paper

And here’s what you will do:

Mix the colored glitter with the white in a small bowl…1 part color, 2 parts white. This will give it a little more sparkle and texture.
Choose an egg that is roughly the same color as the glitter you will use. Make sure it is firmly closed.
Paint the egg with a layer of Mod Podge and place it in the bowl of glitter.
Spoon the glitter over the egg until it is completely covered.
Using the spoon, remove the egg from the bowl and place on wax paper to dry.

And here’s the result! Hey…wait a minute! Some of those eggs are larger than the others! And I said to use small plastic eggs, right? Well, here’s my secret…

The larger glitter eggs came from Walmart! Yep…Walmart...so they were no work whatsoever! I just opened the package and taaa daaa! When I spied these babies, I knew I had just cut my work in half! I mean…why reinvent the wheel?

Just mix them in with your handmade glitter eggs and who can tell? Gotta love easy!

I love them! The jewel-tone colors are going to add so much pizzazz to my Easter décor! And it hardly took any time at all to create this look!
