It started with my Pottery Barn inspired faux magnolia wreath. It adds a classic and timeless touch, I think, and I will be able to use it year after year! And…since I was determined to spend as little as possible on Christmas decorations this year, I was excited that all I had to spend was $4.00 for the grapevine wreath since I already had everything else that I needed!
I also added a few magnolia leaves and red ornaments to each of the corners of my garland to continue the theme. I would love a whole garland of magnolias one of these days!
I was really excited to finally be able to use the gorgeous stag candle holders that I had found for $35 for the pair in an after-Christmas sale at Bombay Company several years ago! They never quite fit in with any of my other mantels and I was determined to show them off this year.
I even made them little fresh cyprus wreaths to wear around their necks!
I was happy that I could reuse the burlap and plaid stockings that I had made several years ago, too. You can get a closer look at them here.
And here it is! I am really loving the cozy touch that it is adding to my home during the holidays!

My burlap and plaid Christmas mantel made it to the pages of Country Sampler magazine in my Christmas home tour. 
And here’s another favorite…my French ticking, burlap and mercury glass Christmas mantel. I saved oodles of money by cutting up some old French ticking drapery panels to create most of my decor that year!
