Here, we have had almost a week of rain with more to come, so my scheduled co-host for today…our CEO Miss Ozzie…is taking advantage of a little bit of sunshine for a short nap. Since she’s no spring chicken, I’m opting to let her snooze. :-)
I knew this would be my next project as soon as I saw these wonderful engravings of the elevations of several Parisian monuments that date from the 1600s…beautiful! You may find out more by clicking on the titles below each of them.
Here’s what you will do:
- Print each of the graphics at 8x10 size. I always use Photoscape, a free download, so that I can choose the size of my print-outs. You will find other sizes on the links under each of the photos if you wish.
- Cut the graphics to a size that will fit your candles. You may want to allow a margin on the top and bottom.
- Follow the directions that you will find here to age your paper.
- Once they are dry, you can wrap them around your candles and attach with a bit on Elmer’s Glue on the overlap.
Another option is to print them at 8x10 size, age them according to the directions found here and frame them!
Here’s a final peek. I love the way the aging process gives the paper a vintage look!
And just in case you would like to know how to create the vintage book bundle that you see in the photos, you will find the directions here, including graphics for the antique Paris postcards that you can print for your projects.
And here is perhaps my favorite project using aged paper…my frenchy numbered candle wraps…
…as well as my French fairy tale book covers that transform old paperbacks into vintage-look décor! There are free graphics for Puss-in-Boots and Little Red Riding Hood...in French, of course!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed seeing my aged paper candle wraps! Please visit these wonderful bloggers and their beautiful blogs to see what they are up to and to find a list of this week’s participants.
