No-Sew Bunnies and Burlap for Spring!

Woo hoo! It’s only a few weeks away from the first official day of spring…and I am sooo ready! It’s also time to get on your spring crafting if you are a DIYer like me. So I am sharing some of my favorite springy projects…and they all involve bunnies and burlap and most of them are even no-sew as well!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT No-Sew Burlap Bunny Treat Bag My no-sew bunny treat bag is a fun way to stow away those special treats so that they can be delivered by the Easter bunny! A paint chip sample cut in an egg shape serves as the tag…easy!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT No-Sew Bunny Ear Silverware Pocket Here’s a fun way to set your spring table…with my no-sew silverware pocket! Just tie on a little name tag and it’s a place card, too!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pier 1 Inspired Bunny Ear Napkin Rings And to complete the burlap bunny tablescape, how about adding these Pier 1 inspired bunny ear napkin rings? They are super easy to make and are no-sew as well!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pottery Barn Inspired Bunny Banner And to bring some bunnies and burlap flavor to your front door, how about my Pottery Barn inspired burlap bunny banner?  I liked it so much last year that it will be making another appearance on my front door this year! Note: This one requires minimal sewing.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT No-Sew Egg CozyAnd now for a little change, how about bunnies without burlap? My no-sew egg cozies were easy and fun to make! And…they would make great little gifts for your spring and Easter dinner guests!

And for more bunnies without burlap...and certainly no sewing...here are my bunny Peeps Mason jar candles...so much fun to make! And you can even eat some of the supplies while you are working on them! ;-)

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pottery Barn Inspired Spring Centerpiece Here are more bunnies with just a touch of burlap…my Pottery Barn inspired Spring centerpiece! This is another little bit of Easter décor that I kept to use again. I just pulled it out and popped it on my breakfast room table for some fun contrast against my handmade burlap table square!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Ballard Inspired French Bunny Pillow My Ballard inspired French bunny pillow is still one of my all-time favorite pillows! The free graphics are included in the tutorial as always. And…with a purchased pre-made pillow cover (such as those sold at Hobby Lobby) you can turn this one into a no-sew project as well!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Easy Spring WreathAnd now, let’s give equal time to projects that are just burlap…no bunnies! My super-easy spring wreath stars burlap topped with faux dogwood branches and a little nest full of eggs!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pottery Barn Inspired Burlap-Wrapped VaseAnd here’s an easy and inexpensive way to add a little texture to Dollar Tree finds…my Pottery Barn inspired burlap-wrapped vases! Just add some spring daffodils and they are good to go!

Isabella loves burlapOur Miss Isabella is a big fan of burlap…and bunnies…so she has given her stamp of approval to these projects! Enjoy!

Simple Spring Centerpieces

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Simple Spring CenterpieceWoo hoo! Have you realized that the official start of spring is now less than a month away? Sooo…I have added a little touch of spring to my home with a simple spring centerpiece starring some of my favorites…white ironstone, my little chalkware lamb and a pot of flowering hyacinths. However, outside my window I can see this…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Simple Spring Centerpiece …the results of an ice storm...pretty but dangerous! Fortunately for me, my trees are not mature and have fared very well with only a few broken branches, unlike some of my neighbors who lost not only power but also entire trees! Yikes!

Isabella Miss Isabella says she’s had enough of winter and is ready for spring to arrive!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Simple Spring Centerpiece So I am grateful to have these little bits of spring brightening up my day! I have nestled a pot of hyacinths, on the verge of bursting into bloom, into some burlap to add texture…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Simple Spring Centerpiece …and placed them in one of my favorite white tureens…a thrift store find from several years ago.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Simple Spring CenterpieceI layered in some double-sided striped and floral napkins in colors that reflect the hyacinths and topped them off with a few vintage silverplate forks in my favorite grape-y pattern, tied with jute twine to add even more texture.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Simple Spring CenterpieceI finished off the centerpiece with a little vintage-look faux chalkware lamb...a favorite find from Wisteria last year. Doesn’t he have the sweetest little face?

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Simple Spring CenterpieceI corralled it all in a small round woven tray and added it to my handmade burlap table square. I love the simplicity and the little bit of our soon-to-arrive (I hope) spring! And best of all...I love the way the hyacinths are filling my home with their sweet fragrance!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Touch of Spring And just in case you are looking for more hints of spring, here’s my springy centerpiece with lots of blue and white and sunny yellow daffodils…another favorite spring flower!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Using Vintage Finds in a CenterpieceAnd even though I created this centerpiece using my vintage finds from a thrifting trip with friends last July, I think it would fit right in with spring! I was so excited to find the vintage lamb mold and couldn’t wait to share it with you! The little swirly vintage molds and the quadruple silverplate duck head sugar bowl were prized finds at a local antique fair.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT French Spring VignetteAnd finally, you may recognize some of the elements of my French spring vignette, such as the little chalkware lamb. You can also see a vintage silverplate fork, tied with jute  twine and added to a burlap insert in a thrift store frame. The cute little French flash cards were a gift from a sweet friend. I finished it off with egg cups filled with violas on a vintage silverplate tray. Can you tell that lambs and spring flowers are some of my favorite ways to welcome spring?
How about you? Are signs of spring starting to appear in your home?

Please Join Me for The Scoop #159

Hi everyone and welcome to the 159th edition of The Scoop! We are so excited to have you as our weekly guests, both to share and to be inspired! After all, it wouldn't be a party without our guests!

Have you realized that spring is officially less than a month away? Even though we have had single digit temperatures and ice storms here in Georgia, I am beginning to bring a little bit of spring into my home. I have shared ten ways you can bring in spring as well! Be sure to check them out here.

And I am always excited when it's time for our monthly share from my Country French design group and this time the subject is our choice! If you know me, you will not be surprised that I chose pillows...Country French style! I am sharing my top ten favorites which, as always, include any graphics that you will need free of charge in the tutorials!

And now...let's get this party started!

Welcome back to The Scoop!

Boy, I sure am glad to have this past weather week behind us!  Here in North Carolina, we haven't suffered through this winter nearly as much as some of you, but the record-breaking cold temps were tough.  I hope that the month of March is much kinder to us all!  I've tucked away the few winter decorations that I had out and have already started freshening things up for spring.  I'll be sharing it with you in the coming days, but speaking of freshening up, did you see my thoughts on HGTV's 2015 Dream Home?  I had to watch it several times to absorb everything.

The repetition of color throughout the space ties this open area together. The use of pattern is restrained so as not to overwhelm the space.

Since I last hosted The Scoop, I also shared the new backsplash in our kitchen.  We've been remodeling at our new-to-us house, but the kitchen is almost finished!

Let's take a look at a few features from last week's party.

Head over to Edith & Evelyn Vintage Interiors to check out Cindy's amazing den transformation.

Look what Christy, from Confessions Of A Serial DIY'er, made from a $3.49 headboard!  She shares her easy method for transferring letters, too.

Isn't this a beautiful spring wreath?  Let Ramon (who is a florist), from Row House Blog, teach you how to make one too with his step-by-step tutorial.

You won't believe what Heather, from Woods Of Bell Trees, made from an old shirt!
