A few pretty things...

Here are a few details of Nicole's gorgeous home and beautiful, beautful teacup collection.

I think this is where my love for them has come from. Whilst unfortunately I don't have as many little beauties decorating my home, I find that drinking tea in anything else but a teacup just doesn't taste the same.

What I particularily love about Nicole's collection is no two are the same, each has a different meaning and was collected at various times in Nicole's life. She also never uses the same teacup each day and rotates each of them so they all receive equa amounts of love.

Who lives here?

What an elegant interior with all that white and cream. And those cherry blossoms are divine which reminded me, not too long before they will be available at the flower markets.

The practical woman in me thinks, whoa now this is beautiful, but how on earth could anyone possibly maintain something like this? And it made me think, I wonder who lives here? A person who spends limited time in here but loves to come home to something fabulous? Or perhaps someone that is lucky enough to have a cleaner or clean themselves religiously? Or perhaps it's someone who has mastered the art of being pristinely clean at all times...

Regardless of who lives here, it's incredibly glamourous. Although, let me just confirm, certainly myself, Luke and our 2 dogs sadly wouldn't be welcome! Kellie xx

A beautiful long weekend!

What a lovely weekend. Thank you to Nicole, Ashlee, Bethany and Breanna for a weekend full of love, laughs and fun.

I thought I would show you a couple of flowers from Nicole's beautiful garden. Oh and her teacup selection which is ah, shall we say, quite extensive... Gorgeous!

Home made caramels...

I saw this posted at Cupcakes and Cashmere and it reminded me of the divine caramels I had at Rockpool for dessert recently. Oh they were so delicious. Everyone thought I was weird ordering caramels for dessert but when I shared them around everyone else had food envy. I must, must, must try these at home! Save me heading out for dinner to enjoy them. Kellie x

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, more for greasing pan

1½ cups heavy cream, preferably not ultrapasteurized

2 cups sugar

½ cup light corn syrup

Pinch salt

1½ teaspoons vanilla extract, optional.

1. Lightly grease a 9-inch-square baking pan. Combine all ingredients except vanilla in a broad saucepan or deep skillet and turn heat to medium-low. Cook, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves.

2. Mixture will bubble and darken; when color is dark beige and mixture measures 235 degrees on a candy thermometer, it is butterscotch sauce. (Use immediately or refrigerate for up to several weeks; warm in a microwave oven or over hot water to soften.) To make caramels, keep cooking and stirring until mixture is even darker, nearly brown, and measures 245 degrees (or until a piece of it forms a firm ball when dropped into a glass of cold water).

3. Stir in the vanilla and pour into prepared pan. Cool, then remove from pan in a block and refrigerate, but not for too long - what you want is a mixture cool enough so that it's not too sticky, but not so cold that it's solid; this is the easiest state in which to cut and wrap.

4. Use a sharp knife to cut caramel into pieces, then wrap each square in waxed paper or plastic wrap. These keep for weeks, especially if refrigerated, but are best eaten fresh and at room temperature.

Yield: At least 50 caramels.

A fabulous little project to get the ball rolling...

I am very lucky that after my "day" job, I can come home and work on projects that really make me happy and fulfill my hopes and dreams. I have just started to take on small jobs and this one is for a lovely client who has entrusted me to give this old antique chair a facelift.

This beautifying treatment will include some beautiful fresh white paint and we have decided on the Rubie Green East Village fabric in pink. I can't wait to show you the result. We will also be using this same gorgeous fabric for some cushions and lamp shades for their guest bedroom. Kellie xx

Floorboard art!

What a beautiful way to decorate the home from the floor up! Perhaps when I get sick and tired of our new floor boards I could take to them with a paintbrush, shame my artistic skills are less to be desired... And then when I was tired of that, a couple of coats of white paint would do the trick. Kellie xx

Needing a good clean...

My Mum is a lover of all things new, me, well I like a bit of both. Imagine my delight when she remembered she had stored a whole lot of vintage china and silverware from her Great Uncle's home that she really wasn't that interested in keeping for herself. She must of somehow known one day this would be right up my alley as she kept it all for me for years and years...

It's definitely not the kind of thing Mum would use to style her home with and was delighted when I was over the moon to see it loved in our little place. Three gorgeous little silver jugs are now gleaming in my home. Each of these were so black from not being cleaned for years and years but just with a little love and silver cleaner, they have come up beautifully.

A meal to remember...

I am absolutely no food critic however I have to say that I had possibly the best meal today I have ever had. I went to Bird Cow Fish in Surry Hills (for my international readers an inner Sydney suburb) and ordered the gnocchi with prawns, burnt, verjuice and crispy sage. Oh my, it was absolutely amazing and I would never normally order gnocchi! I was sad when I had eaten it all!

If you have not already been there, please, please go and try it and if you have been and didn't select the gnocchi, you must return. Delicious.

I'm planning on when I can return for round two. Wow, wow, wow.... Kellie xx

A Plum Pretty Sugar kind of day...

I have to say I just love the Plum Pretty Sugar range! The prints are divine and the styles of just gorgeous. As well as beauties such as these they also have beautiful lounge pants that I just adore. When i'm at home, I wear lounge pants just like those all the time. Who needs jeans when you can wear gorgeous prints and feel so comfortable and relaxed at the same time...
